Home-Based Therapists work with at-risk children and their families.  Work is done in clients' homes with the goal of preventing placement and safely maintaining children in their homes.  Home-based therapy includes family therapy, individual therapy, case management, and crisis intervention.  A variety of problems are addressed, including abuse, neglect, court-related problems, and other mental health issues.

Candidates should be masters-level with degree in family therapy, counseling, social work, or related field and have at least one year experience working in a mental health setting.

Positions are currently available in Lynchburg and Chatham.


Become a leader on our Phoenix team!

We are currently seeking a professional with leadership ability to become a member of the Phoenix management team.  The Safety Assurance Supervisor manages a team of therapeutic companions and oversees the day-to-day activities of a day treatment program.  They are also responsible for monitoring and ensuring the safety of program participant, building systems to ensure their ongoing safety, identifying and addressing potential problem areas.

Candidates must have a bachelor degree in a human services field with at least one year experience working in the human services field.  Previous management experience is preferred.


Join our Phoenix management team!

The Therapeutic Planning and Activity Supervisor also manages a team of therapeutic companions and oversees the day-to-day activities of a day treatment program.  They also develop treatment plans for all program participants and the daily program plans that address each client's individual needs.  The Therapeutic Planning and Activity Supervisor makes plans for Strategic's school, after-school, and camp programs.

Candidates must have a bachelor degree in a human services field with at least one year experience working in the human services field.  Previous management experience is preferred.


Therapeutic companions work with at-risk youth in school, after-school, and day camp programs.  They work with children on their behavior problems and help to contain their behavior while the therapist addresses any problems with the child in family therapy. 

Candidates should have ability to work proactively with children to keep them positively directed and avoid problem behaviors.  Bachelor degree and one year experience preferred.
